Dr. Benjamin Roose is dedicated to helping patients find the best treatment to improve their health and quality of life, whether through surgical or non-surgical means. He practices medicine with integrity and compassion, providing a personalized approach for each patient. As a surgeon, Dr. Roose helps patients maintain their health by removing infections, masses, or repairing tissue, while also emphasizing the importance of nonsurgical care through information and encouragement.

His specialty is general surgery, with a focus on acute care surgery and rural medicine. Dr. Roose's practice includes performing colonoscopies, laparoscopic surgeries for quick healing, and treating colon and breast cancers. He also specializes in hernia repair, gall bladder disease, lumps and bumps, diverticulitis, and appendicitis. Dr. Roose enjoys reading, rock climbing, traveling, playing board games, and spending time with friends.

Dr. Roose earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio, and completed his general surgery residency at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Following his training, Dr. Roose continues to serve with World Medical Missions in Burundi, Africa, where he provides a variety of surgical and non-surgical treatments in high-need, low-resource settings. He is board certified by the American Board of General Surgery.

    He listened to me . He didn't look away when talking he looked right at me. He took his time with me and explained to me in terms I understood. He knew that I was scared to have a port and said that the port would make it easier for when I do my kemo treatments. He has very good bedside manners. I have some docs that don't have that quality and you are left to wonder. He saw me before and after the surgery. He told me it's gonna be alright knowing I was scared. I would use him again if need be cause he cares for you more than any doctor I have had in the past. He is friendly when he talks to you like you matter not just because it's his job. I would recommend him to other people.
